Enhancement: Home Dashboard Action Tile

:sparkles: What’s New

We are updating the default dashboard to show only the following action tiles: My Access, Pending Requests, Pending Tasks, and Managed Passwords (if you have Password Manager), since these apply to all users. All other action tiles will now be hidden by default to reduce confusion for end-users who may see tiles that don’t apply to them, but they can still be added back to your dashboard at any time.

This change will reset the layout of your Home page, so any customizations previously made will need to reapplied.

Can you also make it so we can choose to hide Pending Requests?

Thank you.

Jason

That will be coming very soon. We’ll be applying AMS rights to every widget and action tile so that you can choose which to apply to any user level. We’ll have an announcement for that after the first of the year.

Is there a way to add tiles globally? We need all managers to have access requests, pending certifications, and my team. We don’t really care if other end users can see those tiles.

A suggestion here is that this kind of update comes together with the possibility of admins to choose what they want the users to see by default on their tenants. Now with this change the managers are confused, and we need to teach them to customize the dashboard, something that they don’t need to do until now

Exactly. End users want to get in, approve/request/certify, and get out. Most of them don’t want to spend time customizing their dashboards.

Is there a way to globally add the certifications tile to everyone? This is causing a lot of confusion with our users.

Hi everyone,

I’d like to propose an enhancement regarding the Home Dashboard Action Tiles, specifically for the Announcements / Product News functionality.

The Current Challenge:

Currently, the flexibility of the Home Dashboard is great for personal productivity, but it presents a governance challenge. If we want to ensure every user sees critical system updates, maintenance windows, or compliance news via the “Announcements” tile, we often have to rely on individual users to manually customize their dashboard to include it.

The Use Case:

We view the “Announcements” tile not just as a “nice-to-have,” but as essential infrastructure for organizational communication. If a user doesn’t opt-in to add this tile, they miss critical operational data. Relying on 10,000 users to manually click “Edit Dashboard” → “Add Tile” results in massive inconsistency.

The Proposed Solution:

We need a Global Administrator setting to modify the “Default Dashboard Template.”

This should function in one of two ways:

  1. The “Golden Master”: Allow Admins to configure a default layout that is automatically applied to all newly created identities/users.

  2. The “Push” Update (Ideal): Allow Admins to push a specific tile (like Announcements) to the dashboards of all active users, locking it in place so it cannot be removed.

Business Value:

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensures 100% of the user base sees security warnings and maintenance alerts.

  • Reduced Friction: Removes the cognitive load from new users who shouldn’t have to “build” their own workspace just to get started.

  • Standardization: Support teams can troubleshoot more effectively knowing that every user is looking at the same core set of tiles.

This is absolutely our use case, and I suspect many other organizations need this level of control to ensure their communication channels are effective.

Has anyone else found a workaround for this, or would you support this feature request?

As an admin I’d like to to be able to add the “My Team” tile to every home dashboard of a manager so they can immediately see the identities they are supposed to manage.

All, thanks for the questions and feedback. There is not currently a way to globally change the tiles for everyone. However, we are working on adding Custom User Levels support for all action tiles and widgets so that you can specify exactly which tiles/widgets you want to be visible to which user levels. An announcement on the timing for that will be coming very soon.

In the meantime, I’m working on a walkthrough to show all users how they can easily modify their dashboard to add in whichever tiles they need/want to see, and that should be visible to everyone in the next few days. Thanks!

No need to add much to what others have already said, there are a lot of good suggestions already. This has been a larger impact to our user population than I had expected. A large number of our users got used to seeing the pending certifications tile on their dashboard, and our internal documentation also shows screenshots with that tile. Since this rolled out, our users assume they don’t have any pending certifications since it’s not front and center when they log in. Ideally, we would like to set global default for tiles on the dashboard and if the tech-savvy folks customized their dashboards, they would probably understand why theirs looks different.

I would also like to highlight an pain point from our org perspective. Beginning in 2026, we have received a significant increase in complaints indicating that managers or reviewers are unable to see pending certifications on their dashboards. As a result, audit-critical certification campaigns are being missed, leading to overdue completions and audit risk. If administrators have the ability to add or remove tiles from the default dashboard and apply those changes globally for all end users, it would significantly help address this issue.

How do I upvote Leonardo for this idea? I came here to say this, and so did many others. To David Blankenship’s point, Users cannot find the certification dashboard, and our GRC teams are feeling the wrath.

Removing clutter is great in principle.
But as others have said this unilateral change we had no control over did some good and some harm.

It’s unrealistic to expect all people in a specific group (all managers, all app owners, …) to customize their dashboards 1-by-1, so now people are going to miss out on information.

To navigate between clutter and good signalling, perhaps a tile could show up automatically if it has non-zero items? MyTeam would show up for managers and only them, Pending Certifications / Requests / Tasks only when one has one or more of those pending. Vanishing tiles are not 100% ideal from a UX standpoint, but since no central mechanism is planned to control tiles, then this could be another approach, a decentralized one, that strikes a decent compromise.

I’ll throw in a “Me Too”. We just launched our first Access Review since the UI change and the missing certifications button caused a lot of confusion and delay in completion. Like the others said I can see removing clutter, but there should be a way I can add this back to everyone as it is the most useful thing on the dashboard for our end users.

I understand your frustrations. We talk with lots of customers before we decide to make any changes, but that doesn’t always meet the needs of all customers. We are working on giving you the ability to configure which tiles will be shown by default for all users. The other tiles will still be in the list and available to add, like today, but you could set the default for the majority of users, and then admins could change their own views to add more.

That will be done this quarter. In the short-term, however, if you want to send me a DM with which tiles you want to be shown by default, and your tenant’s name(s), we can do one-off migrations for you. Additionally, if you’d like to chat about our planned changes to allow you to configure the default view, you can sign up for a time on my calendly.

Thanks
