Enhancement: MySailPoint and Custom Dashboards

Dashboard Favoriting and Expanded Components

:sparkles: Description

We are excited to announce enhancements aimed at giving your teams more ways to see what matters most: new chart types, conditional formatting and thresholds, and export to CSV, Excel, or images. You can even choose your default dashboard, so the right view is front and center every time you open MySailPoint.

:red_exclamation_mark: Problem

Custom Dashboards launched as an MVP with a small set of components. That creates three main issues:

  1. Limited ways to show insights — Teams can’t present data in the formats that work best (e.g., the right chart type, size, or layout), so dashboards feel generic and every widget looks and behaves similarly.
  2. Slow delivery of new capabilities — Each new component requires changes in both the UI and the backend, which slows down adding the visualizations and controls customers need.
  3. Rigid layout and no personal default — Fixed widget sizes don’t fit all types of data (e.g., a single metric vs. a large chart), and users can’t choose which dashboard is their default home view, reducing relevance and adoption.

:light_bulb: Solution

We’ve integrated with a new charting library and migrated all existing widgets to use it. This allows for:

Data Filtering: Filter chart data by clicking on chart labels to hide or show only the details relevant to you.

Chart Context Menu: A new menu over each chart that allows you to:

Dashboard Favoriting

Upon login, you’ve always been directed to the Home dashboard. With Dashboard Favoriting, you have the power to choose. If you have a personal or managed dashboard that you’d prefer to be the default, simply click the star next to the dashboard in your dropdown and your default will update.

:crystal_ball: What’s Next?

Soon you’ll start seeing more chart types and widget sizes to display the information in ways more suited to the particular insights. We’re also working on allowing admins to configure the default layout of the Home dashboard. You’ll be able to choose which tiles/widgets you want in the default view and publish those changes to your tenant.

Hi @Tyler_Harman,

We have over 100 concurrent certification campaigns running and our Certification Admins would like to track their status via the widget in MySailPoint. However, we discovered it only allows 10 campaigns (4 pages total).

Can we remove this limit and provide more flexibility to visualize more items per page?

Thanks!

Would be great to see more flexibility here, especially around pagination and dashboard customization. Definitely supporting this enhancement

Thanks for the enhancements. Dashboard favoriting alone will make a noticeable difference in day to day use.

Thanks so much for the feedback! The way it’s currently configured is just to show the 10 campaigns closest to completion, but we can look into either allowing it to show more campaigns or create a new widget to display them. I’ll take this back to the team to discuss the best way to get you this information.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you elaborate a bit more on the types of customizations you’d like to see and how you would expect pagination to work?

You can also sign up for a time on my calendar to chat about those and any other enhancements or feedback you have.
