In ISC Sandbox only there are now 2 different certificate email for each case (Certification, Certification Due, Certification Reassignment)

I’m noticing that in our ISC Sandbox environment, there are currently 6 email templates relating to Certification:

  • Certification (old)
    Certification Campaign Activated (new)

  • Certification Due (old)
    Certification Due Reminder (new)

  • Certification Reassignment (old)
    Certifications Reassignment (new)

In Prod, there are only 3 templates:

  • Certification (old)
  • Certification Due (old)
  • Certification Reassignment (old)

We remember only having 3 templates above in ISC Sandbox before, and we customized these 3 templates (to our org’s format) to be used during certification campaigns (to send these emails to reviewers when the cert campaign started; reminder after every 7 days; and reassignment email to newly reassigned reviewers)

However now that there are 3 new templates in Sandbox, they become the email templates being sent out to reviewers during cert campaigns in Sandbox. This caught us by surprise that ISC Sandbox is switching to use these 3 new templates, which are default templates and not customized extensively yet by us like the 3 old ones. Therefore users receive plain default email in sandbox now.

We wonder why there is this sudden change, and what to expect from now on. Where will the 3 original email template being used in Sandbox? When will this change reach Prod, we don’t want to surprise users again especially in Prod. Should we start customizing the 3 new templates like how we customized the 3 old ones?

Thank you.

Hi @lanphuongmai

I’m seeing the same in my clients environments.

I’ve caught a few changes being released to sb (sandbox) before I would ever see a product news release, but very rarely does SailPoint ever roll these changes back. If I were you, I would move forward to configure the 3 new templates with the assumption that they will be going live in the next couple weeks.

Another option is to hold off until you see the product news announcement, which will probably come out some time this week and that usually includes a production deployment timeline. In that thread, you can ask questions about where the changes will take place and next steps.

This is a whole other topic, but this is why I always advise that clients have 3 environments total instead of just sb/prod. Sandbox is your developer environment and QA/Prod are your production like environments that your end users can actually use and be stable.

The difference could be due to next gen cert rollout; you can reach out to your CSM to find out more.
