Would like to understand for existing work items which an inactive user has before leaving the organisation will they be automatically forwarded?

Is there any documentation on this?

If won’t happen automatically for existing work items. You need to write some code/configuration for the same.

As per documentation, work items assigned to Inactive user should be automatically forwarded to Manager

The work items of an inactive user are automatically forwarded to the inactive user’s manager.

To modify this OOTB behaviour you can configure a rule.To configure a rule for forwarding work items to another user other than inactive user’s manager.

Go to Global Settings → IdentityIQ Configuration → WorkItems → Work Item Rules
