Love to see this! I think it will drive larger adoption of the features and a lot of great work being shared here in the community. I know I’m excited to get some new workflow examples published here!
This actually puts the feature in line with what’s provided in Business/Business Plus, unlike the 2 completely unrelated features it was bundled with previously. I do still think it should be Business and not Business Plus since dynamic approval routing sounds like a pretty necessary base-level IAM feature to me (especially compared to other recent features we’ve been given for free like Harbor which is not necessary at all but can be useful), but at least this doesn’t feel like the shameless cash grab it was before.
I like that as this is a strong move for adoption. Moving Adaptive Approval Workflows into Business Plus reduces friction and makes it much easier for customers to operationalize risk-based approvals as a standard control.
For rollout planning with customers, can you clarify a few practical items:
How will tenants know the feature is enabled (UI location / feature flag / API indicator) once provisioning completes on Jan 6, 2026 for existing Business Plus?
Any change-management guidance: do customers need to update existing approval workflows, or is this additive (new workflow types/templates only)?
Do you have an enablement “starter pack” (1-pager + best-practice examples + measurable outcomes like reduced approver fatigue / faster cycle time) the field/partners can use?
If you publish a short checklist + example use cases, it’ll help teams adopt quickly and consistently across Sandbox and Prod.
The actions and trigger already exist in environments. The distinction is that you will now be able to completely enable those workflows where prior to Jan 6, you would not be allowed to enable due to a license check.
No change management needed for any Adaptive Approval workflows. For exisitng worfkflows that were using some other mechanism, you may want to modify them to take advantage of the new actions.
We have documentation that is available descirbing the entire process. In addition to documentation, we published 3 templates that give an example of differing approvals including “auto-approve/reject” scenarios.
