New Capabilities: Atlas Enterprise Edition

:bangbang: We are excited to announce our new platform offering, Atlas Enterprise Edition!!

Atlas Enterprise Edition is built for customers that are looking to amplify the power of their identity programs with unprecedented ease. It offers all new capabilities designed to empower Identity administrators to build more sophisticated logic and tailored front-end experiences. We hope you are excited to leverage the power of the Atlas Platform to go solve problems and build value for your organizations!

Capability 1: Adaptive Approvals

Description

Enhance and automate your custom business processes! The power and flexibility of workflows combined with Adaptive Approvals enables organizations to automate business processes that require approval flows for Access and Tasks. The flexibility of Workflows allows you to route approvals based on internal and external data thus ensuring reduced friction, increased security, and reduced costs.

Problem

With more and more regulatory requirements incoming into different industries, the need for a more flexible and customizable automated approval experience for administrators quickly turned into a must have.

Solution

Leveraging our existing Workflows functionality, administrators now have the option to create workflows that provide dynamic approval logic and input into their data flows. This includes contextual inputs including XDR and Risk data to route to the appropriate level of approval.

Who is Affected?

  • ISC Administrators
  • End Users
  • Help Desk Users

Capability 2: Custom Dashboards

Description

Create custom dashboards to tailor how, and to whom, essential governance and security data is displayed within an organization.

Problem

ISC gathers a great deal of data; however, much of it is locked behind administrative-level privileges. This forced administrators to either manually generate and send reports, or over-provision admin access.

Solution

We have created a simplified experience for creating custom dashboards and populating them with MySailPoint and Access Intelligence Center widgets, enabling administrators to create and share the views and data they want, with whomever they want via entitlements.

Capability 3: Shared Signals Framework - Receiver

Description

This new integration between ISC and the Shared Signals Framework (SSF) provides ISC admins with a ready-to-use SSF Receiver, reducing the time, cost, and complexity of setup—while significantly strengthening your security posture.

Problem

The Shared Signals Framework (SSF) is a new standard from the OpenID Foundation. Its purpose is to make it easy for companies to share security events related to the users who are using their systems. To further enhance the Identity governance and security experience, Identity Security Cloud needed to offer support for this new standard.

Solution

The Shared Signals Framework - Receiver is the first phase of the integration with Shared Signal Framework and will enable you to share risk events in near real-time, improving coordination across XDR, SOC, and Compliance teams to accelerate threat detection and response.

Who is Affected?

  • ISC Administrators

Atlas Enterprise features are available for add-on purchase for Business and Business Plus customers. Please contact your CSM for more information!

Where can I find more information about this subject? I want to see how it works, and what you can do with it. As it sounds like something we could use.

Wait does this mean Adaptive Approvals is not included with the Workflows module which is already an added cost? Even though this feature is just one new workflow trigger and action?

Like this is clearly just a feature of workflows that should have been included from the start. It’s great that it’s being added now, as we’ve been eagerly waiting for it, but separating it from workflows seems kind of ridiculous.

@tburt ^^ for your visibility.

Hello Dennis,

Your CSM should be able to provide a quick demo. If you cannot schedule with them, please use the “Provide Feedback” link in the Workflow Admin page to schedule a 1:1 with me and I would be happy to walk through it.

Understood and appreciate the feedback. Please work with your Sales team and CSMs.

Woa…wait…Adaptive Approvals ISN’T going to be included as basic functionality as part of Access Requests and Workflows in the Business suite? Are you serious? We’re going to have to pay extra for this functionality which is part of the basic package of competitors (like Saviynt)? This was a big gap when we moved from Saviynt to Sailpoint (2 years ago) and was told by a Professional Services expert that the feature was coming (someday). I would have never dreamt it would come at an additional cost.

Hi Kevin @SailorKev,
I really appreciate your passion and am glad you reached out. I’d enjoy speaking with you when you’re available — please feel free to email me at patrick.daniels@sailpoint.com. I’d love to discuss this in more detail.

Thanks,

Patrick

When we purchased ISC 2 years ago, we were told that we should purchase a Business Plus subscription as it will include new features as they are developed. We purchased that package for this reason.

We don’t really appreciate the way SailPoint has started nickel and diming customers.

Is there a matrix somewhere of available functionality and what is and is not included in each package since they evolve (or don’t), over time? This page doesn’t really supply much detail.

Mike, that’s a good point. What is the point of our Enterprise or Enterprise Plus subscription if it’s not going to add new features to our tenant.

SailPoint Guide to Atlas

“We are introducing SailPoint Atlas – our platform and its associated extensibility and AI that enables rapid development and integration of new capabilities … “

So far, the promise of new features that many have been asking for is falling short.

This is the closest I was able to find. Doesn’t even seem entirely accurate to what I’m seeing in our own tenant vs what is listed here as part of our package though.

Two years ago there was a push by Sailpoint to go away from a la carte pricing, and we moved to the Business Plus Suite. At the time we were told that by having the highest Suite we would be getting the new features. But that hasn’t been the case. This is incredibly frustrating that these features are at an additional cost.

Hi Carl, thanks so much for sharing your feedback on this. I wanted to let you know we’re absolutely taking this seriously. Please feel free to contact me directly and I’m happy to discuss in more detail. I don’t have any magic bullets at this point, but I’m happy to collect your detailed feedback so I can continue to share with our leadership. patrick.daniels@sailpoint.com

Agreed - Why is this “basic” functionality an additional charge. As a new customer, having known this before purchase I would have explored other vendors.

What is driving the additional costs for this “extra” feature, versus this being a capability of the base product?

I wanted to provide feedback on Adaptive Approvals and am unsure where best to do so, so adding it here.

First, I’m glad adaptive approvals were provided to business plus customers and I think this functionality is very useful.

Second, my suggestion is we should be able to augment, not replace, the previous reviewer approval process with adaptive approvals. What I mean by this is it is much more scalable to assign role owner, gov. group, or manager approval on the role as before, and then apply an adaptive approval workflow. Currently, in each adaptive approval workflow, we must hardcode the desired approval flow. It would be very nice to dynamically reference the existing reviewer approvals set on the role and modify as necessary.

An example use case: we want an adaptive approval workflow to allow the auto-approval of a request if the requester is in the designated governance group. Given the current implementation of adaptive approvals, this would require a separate workflow for each governance group. Ideally, we have one workflow that dynamically references the governance group set on the role.

That’s a great idea! I’d think you need to formalize it in the Ideas portal (and post the link here for the upvotes).
