๐Ÿ”Ž Announcing Improvements to Search on developer.sailpoint.com ๐Ÿ”

There are two types of information you can find on developer.sailpoint.com today:

  • API Specifications
  • Documentation

Weโ€™re actively looking at how we can improve not just the information we have, but also how you can find it. With the release of the new developer community less than three weeks ago, we added Algolia search over our API specs and docs.

Today, search on developer.sailpoint.com has been improved to better categorize search results by the documentation category and/or API versions that your search term appears in. This enhancement will allow you to find relevant results faster without needing to fine tune the search query.

For example, if you search for โ€œconnectivityโ€, the results will be categorized by the SaaS Connectivity documentation, Rule guide, IdentityNow V3 API, and IdentityNow Beta API, all of which have results with the keyword โ€œconnectivityโ€. If you know what you are looking for should be in the SaaS Connectivity documentation, you can check the results within that search category to find a match.

What Comes Next?

  • We will eventually be incorporating search of the developer community forum as well, once we have a cohesive search experience amongst the different types of content (docs vs forum topics/comments).
  • We know that API specifications for IIQ can be improved, and weโ€™re actively taking steps with the IIQ Product Management & Engineering teams to implement the same improvement strategies that we have for IdentityNow

If you have any feedback or thoughts on how else we might improve this functionality on the developer community, let us know!
