Welcome the Identity Security Cloud to the SailPoint Developer Community!

You’ll notice a few name changes around the community when it comes to some of our documentation, categories, tags, descriptions and more in the developer community: we are transitioning to the Identity Security Cloud!

So, what changed around here?

Developer Docs

You’ll notice a new documentation structure on developer.sailpoint.com for all of our developer docs. All of your old docs links and bookmarks will still work for now—but we recommend updating your bookmarks when you get a chance!

Community Categories & Tags

You will notice one of our primary categories, and subcategories, had a subtle name change, e.g.:
ISC Discussion and Questions
ISC Show and Tell

Non-employee Risk Management (nerm) has also now become a tag nerm and NERM discussions will happen under the Identity Security Cloud category.

API Specifications (coming soon)

Changes to API specifications are coming soon—you won’t see any changes to your URLs here either but again, we recommend you update your bookmarks once they do! There won’t be any changes to critical infrastructure (e.g. query parameters), and for now the API url remains the same: sailpoint.api.identitynow.com.

Developer Tools (coming soon)

As we validate code changes for our developer tools in the coming months, you’ll see new versions arrive with name changes in descriptions and in-tool documentation, too.

As for tags, we’ve greatly improved our tagging structure and welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have. Checkout our community tags here:

Hi @jordan_violet,

Is that mean IdentityNow name is replaced by Identity Security Cloud ?

IDN was a “product”, but ISC is a “platform”. Not just a name change, but a bigger shift because the pieces within IDN are now separated and just pieces within the platform. Look at the “Atlas” overview for “clarification”.

This feels like change for the sake of change rather than an improvement. You went from an established product name with an established domain name that is unique and recognized in the industry, to something bland and generic with what is now a mismatched URL. Also, super confusing, looking at the graphic linked by @edmarks, it looks like “SailPoint Atlas Identity Security Cloud Platform” and “SailPoint Identity Security Cloud” are supposed to be distinct layers. Why have almost identical names if there is supposed to be a distinction between the two, or am I misunderstanding this piece?

Also NERM is still completely disjointed from the rest of the environment, (we have both and they don’t get along). I don’t believe it makes a lot of sense to lump it in under the ISC category until there is real integration between the two. I understand trying to bring everything into one cohesive unit, but this feels rushed, since it doesn’t actually function as a cohesive unit yet.

In short, the overall vision in this post is good, some of the details are not.
Or in nautical analogy terms, I have no problem with the overall direction the ship is heading, but do you think you might have hit an iceberg on the way there?

This indeed looks to be a major change, hope this is to be for good. I am looking forward to it.

Thanks for the update @jordan_violet .
