Access Request Decision Email Template - SailPoint Identity Services

The Access Request Decision email is sent to a user when an access request they made is approved or denied.

This is the companion discussion topic for the documentation at https://documentation.sailpoint.com/saas/help/common/emails/et_ar_decision.html

This documentation doesn’t match what ships by default with the tenant. And I believe if you try to use the email template in this documentation it will produce an error.

HI Alex, I have created a ticket to look at this. Thanks!

Hey @adunker, I hope your week is going great!
After reaching out to the PM, I was able to get the body text updated.

Thanks for catching this!

Does the Access Request Decision email template trigger if we have role owner auto-approval configured and the role owner submits a request? The documentation suggests an email would get sent but it seems counterintuitive to let the person submitting and auto-approving a request know that the request was approved.

HI @dominick-miller!
Let me find out this answer for you. I will reach out to the Product Manager and get an answer to you shortly

Hey Jennifer,

Thanks for taking a look but can you do some testing to substantiate your belief? I am not seeing Access Request Decision emails get sent when submitting requests for roles I am the owner of. We have role owner auto-approval enabled and I see the provisioning and access request completions appear in the logs.

I stand corrected. I ran a test in my environment and it does appear that when the request auto-approves, the requester is not being notified of that approval.
