Workday Source Connection

Hi,

we have Trusted source of type delimited File, We are planning to update the connector from delimited to Workday connector.

Can someone help me with best practices.

Hi @chandramohan27,

To start with you can refer the workday source configuration.

Discuss with the workday team and get all the necessary details mentioned in the documentation.

Hi @chandramohan27

In addition to reviewing the documentation, it will be important to check that the connector will provide the same fields your file is providing today to simplify your attribute mapping. Check these and identify and gaps, from here, as you engage with your workday team, you can discuss if you need any custom fields returned in the integration.

The workday connector also uses XPATH to collect data from the SOAP XML that workday APIs return. Try and get a connection in your sandbox tenant to your test workday environment so you can begin to map any non-standard xpath attributes on the source.

Another thing to keep in mind when migrating authoritative sources is that you will need to create a new Identity Profile, by default the new identity profile will have a lower priority, Before elevating the priority of the new identity profile, make sure that all existing identities have a correlated account in the new source.

Have a look at this page for more info on migrating auth sources:
https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/IdentityNow-Articles/How-to-migrate-Identities-from-one-Identity-Profile-to-another/ta-p/78020

Other than this, follow the normal practices or ensuring manager correlation is set, testing any transforms, lifecycle states, etc.

Hope that helps.
