Work reassignment for approvals does not auto approve

Hello everyone,

We are running into an issue with the work reassignment of approvals.

• We have manager A with an employee.
• Manager A has an active work reassignment to manager B.
• Manager B requests access for the employee.
• The approval goes to Manager A
• The approval is reassigned to Manager B because of the work reassignment
• Self-Approval prevention reassigns the approval to the manager of Manager B.

On the Access Request Config endpoint we have set the autoApprovalEnabled flag to true, so we expect that because Manager B is now the acting manager of the employee, the manager approval process is skipped. This is not the case.

I have looked at the documentation and it says that the automatic approval applies when the configured reviewer is an identity.

Auto approval doesn’t work with Reassignments. Only works when the first approver is the identity that requests the access. Also doesn’t work for Governance Groups.

Work Reassignment will also not allow a requester to approve request that get routed to them through Work Reassignment.
