When does the sync happens

Hello,

I would like to know when the sync happens? If we enable sync for a source. When the sync happens? Is it during the source aggregation or identity refresh?
I know identity refresh happens twice daily ( by sailpoint) so is my assumption is true that the sync will happen twice daily?
