Unable to change source name

Hi all,

I am receiving the following error when I try to change a source name. (SAP SuccessFactors - Authoritative Source) in SailPoint IDN. Is there anyone who has an idea on that? I did checked this however haven’t seen much in here.

Error message: A call from this server to another component has failed.

Good day!

Pre-requisite: confirm if the Source is not authoritative in nature or has any active role or LCS to be implemented.

So there are two ways you can try it if the UI doesn’t work:

i. V3 APIs : update-source | SailPoint Developer Community
ii. Visual Studio IDN: SailPoint IdentityNow VS Code Extension Now Available - Announcements - SailPoint Developer Community

Let me know if the either of the two above option helps?

If none of the above works the goto route is to enable debug mode and open the ccg.log on VA and capture any verbose errors.

It’s an authoritative source. So, that means we cannot re-name authoritative sources?

Usually the linkage will be broken Sahin as the renaming would affect not just the source but also the Identity Profile upon which an identity is created within the system.

But I would still suggest trying out the APIs and Visual Studio aspect if that also throws error then my statement remains corrected if not it can be some sort of bug on your tenant.

I haven’t tested renaming the source via API call, but it gives an error when I try it via Visual Studio. So, perhaps the best is not to rename. Thanks for the information Kumar.
