Q&A from the live session:

  1. Is NERM for IdentityIQ or Identity Security Cloud?
    ANSWER: NERM can be integrated with both IIQ and ISC.

  2. How is NERM licensed?
    ANSWER: By the number of people identities. You can reach out to sales or your CSM, if you have more questions regarding licensing.

  3. Does NERM integrate with ISC Identity Profiles? In that if we have a vendor setup through NERM and then they get hired and show up in our ISC auth source does it use the same identity or are they treated separately?
    ANSWER: There are workflows that can be configured in NERM to handle Temp to Perm and Perm to Temp. This is not part of quickstart, but advanced scoping.

  4. Does NERM include password reset licensing? In ISC the password management functionality is behind a separate license.
    ANSWER: You access NERM via SSO, I do not believe there is any password resetting at the NERM level.

  5. What is the difference between Assignments and Jobs in a clean NERM installation?
    ANSWER: Jobs drive the fields that show up on the assignment form. Jobs used to be called Populations and we are trying to get it set back to Population. Quickstart has 1 population / job, and advanced configurations can have more. It’s not a very end user friendly word to understand in the context of the intent it has.

  6. How do you aggregate Portal User Roles ? Doesn’t seems to be supported by the ‘Non-Employee - Admins’ connector.
    ANSWER: Aggregating the portal users profiles is already supported because they’re people profiles.

  7. How to help teams adopt NERM when they are sabotaging the implementation?
    ANSWER: Objections to adoption sometimes occur due to lack of knowledge about a product/solution or a lack of understanding about the project or goals. Reset expectations, communicate or re-iterate project objectives, and provide additional training opportunities to fill any knowledge gaps. If none of that works, you can talk to the project lead and ask them to restructure the meeting and dis-invite the disruptive person from implementation meetings.

  8. Will the NERM logs be stored directly in NERM or on the ISC side?
    ANSWER: NERM logs (requests/activities in NERM) are stored in NERM.

  9. What if you have a permanent contractor with no known end date? Does NERM handle this?
    ANSWER: If a contractor does not have an end date, NERM is not able to trigger automated termination workflows. The contractor will stay active until someone does a manual termination. An automated workflow to trigger revalidation on a recurring basis can be configured.
