FAQ - NERM in ISC

Hi all,

I wanted to learn about NERM in ISC as I am very new to this topic. I have come across several links, such as:

Additionally, I have found information about APIs:

My questions are:

  1. Where should I start learning about NERM?
  2. What is the purpose of each of the above links?
  3. Which API endpoints should I use for specific tasks?
  4. Is there a dedicated tenant for Non-Employee Management? If so, is it a paid service?

You can starting learning using the Sailpoint University trainings.

https://university.sailpoint.com/Saba/Web_spf/NA10P1PRD075/app/catalog/browse/categ000000000003340

The links are for the Admin and User level documentation for the NERM tenant for setup and use.

You will need to use APIs only if required to perform certain tasks that cannot be acocmplished using UI.

Yes, NERM is a separate license and you need to work with your Sailpoint PS team to get one setup. Since you are an ambassador I think you can request one for learning : https://developer.sailpoint.com/discuss/t/non-employee-risk-management-nerm-demo-tenants/62032

Hope this helps. Happy Learning!

Oh fine. Thanks @sharvari .

But still I am trying to understand something. Is the non-employee connector here in ISC tenant directly linked with the NERM tenants?

I need a clarity here. Let’s say I have a Non-employee source in ISC and I have created accounts there. Will that account be created in NERM tenant?

Else are both the things different?

No, it is not directly linked. It has to be setup as a connector. Same process as connecting to any other target system. Think of NERM as your non employee auth source and you need to set it up in ISC to aggregate users. I hope this answers your second question as well.
