Password now shown in IIQ console login

I recently updated IIQ to version 8.5 and I’m noticing a modified behavior from the IIQ console. I’m wondering if anyone else is seeing this. It now shows the password on login, which I consider to be a bug. Previously it was hidden.

Hi @pdeloos

It seems you are not in the correct deployed IIQ bin folder.

You are currently in ROOT – In Apache Tomcat, ROOT refers to the default web application. Therefore, please check from the correct IdentityIQ deployed bin path.

Note: recently I have performed the upgradation to 8.5, didn’t observe any such issues around iiq console

No, it’s really just my choice to put it in the ROOT folder, nothing more…

Thanks. I created it there. Do you have the same behavior?

I am sure this is not a recommended or a best practice to deploy identityiq into ROOT

its no true. Root folder is for default application on tomcat. This folder doesnt have special permission or something else. You can deploy your app in this folder or in webapps folder, there arent any difference.

Correct, this means you don’t have to specify /identityiq or use any redirect.

Hi @ryan_toornburg and @pdeloos

Just completed installation of IIQ 8.5 in my local pc.

not able to replicate the issue.

tried with username and password prompt: here password is hidden, not visible.

IIQ version details:

HI @pdeloos

If you observe your screenshot you have entered text after connecting to the iiq console

This is my clean observation, kindly confirm from your side as I can see there is a > character which means you are already connected to iiq console.

could you please try list or about command instead of MySecretPassword then enter in this way we can confirm you are already connected to console.

Hi @pdeloos

Greetings!
Did you get a chance to validate my recommendation?

Hi,

Sorry, I’m on holiday, so I was not able to read everything here before. It’s so weird that you’re not getting this, because I get it at multiple instances.

Once back, I will try again. Can you try with:

  • Powershell 7
  • A custom keystore (encryption with 2:)

Kr,

Pieter
