New Capability: RPA SaaS Connector with UiPath for Disconnected Applications

Description

SailPoint now supports the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) SaaS connector, which provides connectivity through RPA platforms for systems that lack direct methods for account and access management — such as those without modern APIs or with limited integration capabilities. Initially, the RPA connector supports UiPath as the RPA platform.

In general, Robotic Process Automation platforms are used to automate identity lifecycle management for:

  • Legacy mainframe systems
  • Applications with web-only interfaces
  • Homegrown business applications
  • Vendor systems without API support
  • On-premise applications requiring UI automation

The SailPoint RPA connector provides the capability to connect to the RPA platform, where you can seamlessly manage and govern the last mile applications.

High-Level Capabilities

  • Account and Entitlement Aggregation
    • API Based Aggregation
    • File-based data collection or upload
  • Account Provisioning
    • Create Account
    • Update Account
    • Delete Account
    • Enable/Disable Account
    • Add/Remove Entitlement

Documentation

As of now this works with UiPath. Is the focus here to make this work with specific RPA platforms? Will there be an additional option to make it more “generic” sort of like how we’d use the Web Services Connector but be suited for RPA?

Hi @mcheek, the plan here is to add few more direct options for specific RPA platforms, which are highly used by customers. Also, there will be few alternate options in future if someone don’t have those standard RPA systems. For Web Services connector like option, you can still use our Web Services connector if it is required. There might be a future plan for having a custom option based on the requirement, but that will not replicate everything what we already have in the Web Services connector. Thanks!
