At the heart of our thriving developer community is you, the users. You have made this developer community more than just a place for dialogue—you’ve made it a place for ideas, innovation, and community. As we continue to evolve, we want to give you more ways to connect with each other.
I’m happy to announce that with chat live right now, we’re bringing the energy and immediacy of real-time chat to our developer community platform. While we believe in the longevity and archivability of forums for support to technical questions, we also believe in the power of spontaneous conversation, and we’re confident this feature will empower you to connect, collaborate, and create in new ways.
You’ll be able to delve into deep discussions in the forum and also pivot to dynamic, live conversations when inspiration strikes. We’re launching this feature with you in mind, maintaining the spirit of our forum while enabling both public and private chats.
How does it work?
Staring today, you can start a live chat with anyone in the forum using the sidebar. Please note that chat is not for technical problems, but for general discussion. If you are looking for a solution to your problem, please make a forum post. Simply click the + where it says Private Chat to get started.
