Developer Community Forum Enhancements!

We are excited to announce some changes to the developer community forum that are now live! Our goal is to continue to make it easier for you to have discussions with others developing on our platform. If you have any other feedback please let us know over in the Feedback section, or right here in this post.

Changelog

Categories

To make it easier to know what you’re here for, we’ve simplified the way we do categories. Other than Announcements or Features, each product will have it’s own category like it does today–but now with just two sub-categories: Discussion & Questions, and Show and Tell. Posting topics in the parent category is disabled, so that every topic will always fall under one of those two options. We’ve also implemented tagging on posts to make it easier, within each product, to know what you’re posting about! Read more below…

Tagging

Each topic is now required to have at least one tag. You can see our tags listed here, but don’t worry–the UI for creating a new topic will remind you and let you search for your tag while authoring. This will help you, the community, and us, SailPoint, keep topics organized so they can easily be found. If you ever have suggestions for better tagging, let us know!

Dark Mode

The Developer Community forum now supports dark mode. You can enable dark mode by clicking on the hamburger menu at the top and choosing the dark theme.

Giphy

You can now use gifs in your messages. While this wasn’t a feature anyone was begging for, it was easy enough to enable and add filtering for. We all know how often gifs are used to communicate in our daily lives today, so we’ll see how it goes! In the text box, you’ll now see the option for adding a gif to your new post or reply. Happy giffing!
