How to keep wokrItem Active and updated till user checks x flag

Dear All,

I have created : Custom Quicklink , custom Forms and custom workflow . using quicklink I am showing my fill details form then readonly form with all the details and generating workitem with requester only.

I want my workitem to be editable form which is initial fill details form where user should able to modify the details and keep that workitem Active only till user do not checks flag x and clicks on submit .

If user keep that x flag unchecked workitem should remain Active and updated workitem should get saved.
