Hello! My organization is thinking about migrating from IdentityIQ to Identity Security Cloud and i was left with the task of discovering how much time the migration tools can save us in the project.
Can someone with previous experience in this migration explain me with more details what the migration tools do and how they can save my organization time in the migration project?
Migration tools does not work in this case and moreover it is not at all a good idea duplicating iiq into isc. Here are two good resource that helps you more for migration.
There are various migration tools developed by SailPoint as well as various other parties like clients or partners. I am not sure what tools do you have available for you, so cannot really guestimate how much of time you might be able to save.
However, migrating from IIQ to ISC is not an automatic process. You need to conduct a study where you will evaluate the features of IIQ that can or cannot be migrated to ISC. Then figure out a way to handle the situations that cannot be migrated. What I have seen is that such migrations are multi-phase processes during which you will continue to use IIQ and switch the modules gradually until you have configured ISC to handle all the requirements you have decided to continue with, following which you can turn off IIQ after running both parallelly for a period
