Full UI Label Customization for SailPoint-Specific Terminology in ISC

Hey SailPoint community! :waving_hand:

I’d like to raise a broader customization gap that affects many organizations deploying ISC in enterprise environments — especially those with strict corporate branding guidelines or non-English-speaking user bases.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: The Problem

ISC provides solid branding capabilities: custom product name, logo, colors, instance badges, and multi-brand support. However, dozens of navigation labels, section names, and functional terms across the UI remain hardcoded and cannot be changed through any tenant setting, theme override, or API.

This forces end users to interact with SailPoint-specific technical terminology that may:

  • :cross_mark: Not align with the organization’s internal vocabulary
  • :cross_mark: Break white-label / full corporate rebranding efforts
  • :cross_mark: Cause confusion for non-technical end users unfamiliar with IAM terminology
  • :cross_mark: Not translate naturally to non-English languages used internally

:light_bulb: Proposed Solution

Introduce a UI Label Customization Engine under: Admin > Global > System Settings > Product Branding

Key capabilities:

  • :input_latin_letters: A centralized dictionary of all customizable UI labels across ISC
  • :pencil: Free-text override per label with a fallback to the ISC default if left empty
  • :globe_with_meridians: Support for multi-brand configurations (different label sets per brand)
  • :counterclockwise_arrows_button: Immediate application upon save — consistent with existing branding behavior
  • :inbox_tray: Optional import/export of label configurations as JSON for environment consistency (DEV → PROD)

:chart_increasing: Business Value

  • :white_check_mark: Enables true white-label ISC deployments
  • :white_check_mark: Aligns ISC vocabulary with corporate or regional terminology
  • :white_check_mark: Dramatically improves end-user adoption and reduces support tickets from confused users
  • :white_check_mark: Supports non-English organizations without requiring full localization
  • :white_check_mark: Fully backward-compatible — default values remain unchanged unless explicitly overridden
  • :white_check_mark: Consistent with the customization philosophy already present in ISC’s Product Branding module

I would like to see more terminology customization. However, SailPoint may avoid allowing every UI label to be renamed because consistent terminology is important for documentation, support, training, localization, and troubleshooting. Allowing selected end-user labels to be customized while keeping technical terms standardized could be a practical middle ground.
