We are planning to upgrade our IdentityIQ environment from version 8.4p2 to 8.5p1. Will this version run on Windows Server 2019, or is it tolerated?

Current Environment Details:

  • IdentityIQ Version: 8.4p2
  • Operating System: Windows Server 2019 (Desktop Experience)
  • Application Server: Apache Tomcat 9.0.108

@msingh900 : Yes, I have reviewed both the Platform Matrix and the Release Notes, and Windows Server 2019 is not listed as a supported operating system. Therefore, I wanted to raise this concern for clarification thanks.

Recently, I have also upgraded the SailPoint 8.3 version to 8.5p1. I used Windows Server 2022 version.

ok @msingh900 but my Environment using 2019 in that case i need to upgrade the server.

I have used the Windows Server 2019 to install SailPoint IIQ 8.5 version. I did not saw any issue in my server.

@sagr0812 Recommendation version specifies the quality of testing done against that specific software versions. It doesn’t always mean that lower version is not going to work, it is just that enough/no testing is not done, and support is very limited or not available for these versions.

If you go for lower versions, you are creating a technical debt for your team. This will also limit the support from vendor. So, considering all these, you should upgrade your Windows Server to 2022 for IIQ 8.5p1.

Yes, we have to upgrade as per Platform Matrix, since you are upgrading to 8.5 update your server to Windows Server to 2022

Based on doc IdentityIQ Supported Platforms Matrix - Compass it’s not but better to check with sailpoint support if they have limited support if you don’t want to upgrade OS while IIQ upgrade.

Based on IdentityIQ 8.5 platform requirements and support matrices: windows server 2019 is supported.
