Enhancement: Access Profile Metadata Support

This capability is brought to you by :aha: Idea GOV-I-4502

Description

This release enhances the ISC Access Model Metadata service by adding the ability to assign metadata to Access Profiles. Previously, metadata could only be assigned to Roles and Entitlements. With this update, customers can now create, assign, and bulk-manage metadata for Access Profiles using the UI or API.

New Capabilities

This release adds support for Access Profiles to the ISC Access Model Metadata service, including:

  • The ability to create and manage Access Profile specific custom metadata.
  • The ability to assign metadata to Access Profiles using the Access Profile UI or API.
  • The ability to bulk assign metadata to Access Profiles using the Access Profile UI or API.

Problem

The ISC Access Model Metadata Service did not previously include support for Access Profiles. Customers were able to add pre-defined and custom metadata to Roles and Entitlements but were not able to do so for Access Profiles.

Solution

This release enhances the ISC Access Model Metadata service by adding the ability to enrich Access Profiles with business context in the form of pre-defined and custom metadata.

The ISC Access Model Metadata service now supports all ISC access model items which includes Roles, Entitlements, and Access Profiles.

Who is affected?

Access Profile metadata support we be available to all customers.

  • The ability to assign pre-defined metadata to Access Profiles will be available to all customers.
  • The ability to create and assign custom metadata attributes for Access Profiles will only be available to ISC suite level customers.

Important Dates

Enablement of this capability will begin the week of September 9th 2025. All staging environments will be enabled first with production environments following in stages.

Hi Patrick,

I can create custom metadata and assign to Access Profiles in non-prod environment. When I tried to list access profile with metadata query filter in search also in API, it is not working. Is this capability is not enabled ?

“query”: “@accessModelMetadata(name:uar) AND accessModelMetadata(value:true)” listing only roles

And tried without @ as “accessModelMetadata(name:uar) AND accessModelMetadata(value:true)” it returns entitlement that attached to role, and access profile and also standalone entitlements.

Hi @PGookin ,

It is not possible to identify access profiles with specific metadata—such as roles and entitlements—via a search using @accessModelMetadata.

According to support, this is a known limitation and they recommend submitting a new idea.

I therefore fail to see the point of this feature if we can’t even perform a search.

Is it plan to add this feature in the comining weeks ?

Thank you in advance
