We have configured a disconnected application. On WorkItem approval, A Manual Changes Work Item is created. The Email notification is not triggered after adding a comment on the manual change work item.
We want to know how the Work Item Comment Email template is triggered if someone added a comment on the WorkItem. Is there any task needs to be triggered for the email notification to be sent or do we need to add any arguments in the workflow?
No additional Task is required, and simply adding a workflow argument will not trigger the email. First confirm whether the Work Item Comment event is actually being generated. If it isn’t, then implement the notification explicitly for the Manual Changes Work Item.
Hi Nihar. I would not expect a separate task to be required here, and adding a workflow argument alone would not trigger the notification.
First check: Gear > Global Settings > IdentityIQ Configuration > Notification Settings > Notification Templates. Confirm For work item comment notices is mapped to Work Item Comment.
Then open the manual provisioning work item in Debug and check its requester, owner, and email values.
As an isolation test, add a comment to a Policy Violation work item:
If email works there but not on the manual provisioning work item, the issue is specific to that provisioning path.
If it fails there too, check the global template and Notification Settings, including Redirect to Email / Redirect to File.
If the global notification works but the manual provisioning work item still does not, I would then review Do Manual Actions and add an explicit notification there if needed.
The emails for Work Item Comment started coming after I have resetted the DEV Env. Not sure why they were not triggering earlier. Thanks for responses.
