Deprecation: Virtual Appliance URL Starting August 29th

Description

As part of regular updates to your virtual appliances, new URLs have been introduced to support new functionality and as a result, older URLs will be deprecated. In most cases, customer VAs will automatically switch to the new URLs, however if your VAs have active health indicators, this may affect the automatic switchover and you may encounter problems when the deprecation occurs.

Who is affected?

On the user interface for Clusters and VA’s, the version is listed for example “CCG 1817_1073_241” is the latest. If your version is number is less than this, then your VA is having trouble updating and needs resolution.

Additionally, if there are other active health indicators, then these may need to be resolved as well.

SailPoint has identified customers who are still communicating with older URLs. CSMs will reach out to those customers to provide further support during the time window allotted before deprecation occurs.

Action Required

Resolve any active health indicators for your VAs. These can be found by navigating to your VA’s detail pages AdminConnectionsVirtual AppliancesDetails (Cluster)VA ID

In some cases, rebooting the Virtual Appliance can resolve most issues. However, if the issues persist, then please refer to the VA health indication.

FAQ

What happens if no action is taken?

  • Once we deprecate, you may face interruptions to activities like aggregations and provisioning . Please resolve any outstanding issues before Friday August 29, 2025

What are some typical actions?

  • Typically, the solution is for customers to reboot their VA’s in their cluster and then check that their VA version is greater than nnnn_1070_nnnn. For example, CCG version 1785_1041_241.0.0 is outdated and requires a intervention. Most other issues tend to be environmental, configuration, or intermittent. New health indicators and notifications were added to the VA earlier this year, this is a good starting point in troubleshooting.

Hi @bwong1,

Thank you for the proactive communication and clarity around the upcoming endpoint deprecation for Virtual Appliances.

The guidance around version tracking and health indicators is especially helpful. Highlighting the importance of staying current with VA versions and resolving active health indicators ahead of the deprecation deadlines allows customers to take timely action and avoid unexpected disruptions to aggregations and provisioning.

The fact that CSMs will reach out to customers still using deprecated endpoints adds an extra layer of support and I am sure customers would appreciate that.
