Bring the Navbar Back! List Your Use Cases Here

There have been lots of different bits of “constructive feedback” on UI changes that removed the navigation bar from the top of the screen, but I wanted to create a topic where everyone could list their use cases on exactly what type of actions we’re trying to perform that make this UI change the most frustrating.

No need to get everything all at once, just post whenever you find one here!

I’ll go first -

I am researching why a LCS transform isn’t working the way the client wants, so I first pull up the identity in question. I didn’t know what the name of the transform was that calculated their LCS, so I needed to open their identity profile mappings page to find out. Oh look! There’s a link to their identity profile on their identity - except it doesn’t take you to that page at all.

So I have to right click on the tab, and click “duplicate” so that I can then close out the identity record and navigate to the identity profile.

Looking at the Transform, I can see that it references a specific account attribute. I want to open up that source to learn more about it, but I don’t have a navbar! So I once again click “duplicate” on the tab with the identity profile, then open up the list of sources.

I’ll post more frustrations as I come up with them.

On configuration page of a source, want to compare a particular attribute value to that of another source.

Before:
Connections → scroll click sources to open new tab → click on source and find page to compare with other tab

Now:
Copy url → open new tab → paste url → hit enter → wait until copied page is loaded → click on back to go to other sources → click on source and find page to compare with other tab.

Fewer required actions/clicks (without losing security) allows us to keep focus, making us happier. It would be really nice to have the nav bar visible in the source configuration page

It doesn’t address the root cause but I use the “duplicate” function in my browser to replace the first 4 steps you have in your Now section

Sweet! I will take any improvement, thanks @mcheek! Those knowing this trick can thus have a more improved ‘now’, but the mentioned ‘before’ with the nab bar would still save more clicks then.

You know something that annoys me alot?

The pages does not have the proper Header/title, so every time i want to go back to a specific page i already visited in the browser, every single one is “Sailpoint ISC”

It makes me reaaallllyyy mad

It gets even worse if you’ve clicked into an Account from an Identity. Then, to get anywhere else, you have to first close out of the Account by clicking < Accounts on the top left, then close out of the Identity by clicking X all the way on the other side of the screen in the top right corner. So if you’re looking at one, say, Workday Account and want to compare against a different Identity’s Workday Account, that’s a whole lot of clicking and moving for what used to be a much simpler process.

So I did some discovery. How they are doing it , and how can they fixed.

They just need to simple change the position of the angular APP, from ABsolute to Relative. Done. this is how
