New Capability: Identity Accounts UI

This is available in all sandbox and production tenants.

A new Identity Accounts UI enables Admins and Helpdesk users to:

  • Manage an identity’s accounts and view entitlement assignments.
  • Understand how account attributes are controlled via attribute sync.
  • Easily copy and pin important account attributes.

You’ll know this is available in your tenant when you see an Accounts UI after clicking the Try New Experience button.

About Try New Experience

Try New Experience enables Admins and Helpdesk users to provide feedback on new UIs as we build them.

The Accounts UI is the second-to-last item that will be added to Try New Experience.

Next on the Roadmap

We’ll release an Identity Access UI that enables Admin and Helpdesk users to view an identity’s Applications, Roles, Access Profiles, and Entitlements in a single place. Try New Experience will then become the default experience.

If we click the “Try New Experience” Button, is there a way we can go back to the old UI in case we run into a problem?

The X in the top right will go back and it defaults to the old page. It is also a different URL:

Old
/ui/admin#admin:identities:users:id

New
/ui/a/admin/identities/id/details/attributes

Thanks for this comment! We’ve added an in-app guide to make this clear to everyone else!

Thanks for doing that, Kirby. I’m sure it will help adoption to have rollback instructions front-and-center in the UI.

I just want to clarify this i.e if I switch to the new UI experience on my login, this shouldn’t auto change the UI experience for other admins in the tenant. Am I correct? Thanks

Yes, that’s correct. It’s a way to preview the forthcoming changes. Pressing Try New Experience does not implement navigation changes for you or others. Press it and let us know what you think!

How @kirby_fitch we are being claimed from several clients about this new screen, but it appeared suddenly without choosing to experience it. It happened to me too in my own tenant, about an hour ago.

This will be permanent now or is some issue?

This is a great added feature, @kirby_fitch! Kudos to you (and your team’s) work on this!

Thank you @kirby_fitch ! This is great.

I had a customer call this out today, they are keen to have their helpdesk users be able to view the access profiles an identity has been assigned.

Thanks @kirby_fitch for the update.

I tried this in sandbox but for some reason I can’t see the ‘Access’ option on the left hand side of the window/screen as shown in your above screenshot. I can see Details, Accounts, Work Reassignment & Events options but not Access. Am I missing anything? Thanks

@kirby_fitch

Sorry! my bad. I think releasing an Identity Access UI is next on the roadmap as you have mentioned. We would love this feature once this is released.

Hi @jsosa Sorry for the delayed response. I can confirm that you shouldn’t be directed to the new experience unless you click Try New Experience. If that’s happening, you could raise a support ticket telling us the steps you’re following to make that happen. We’ll fix it!

Hi @nhassan, you’re correct that Access is still in development. It’ll be released in the next 1-3 months. Here’s a sneak peek!

@msmith your customer will love this, then! You’ll be able to see the list of access profiles, and then you’ll be able to drill deeper to their entitlements!

Hi @kirby_fitch

I like the new Accounts UI, and that you can click on the Source Name.
IMO it would be good if this took you to the main source page /ui/admin#admin:connections:sources:<sourceID>:accounts instead of the Edit Configuration page /ui/a/admin/connections/sources/<sourceID>/menu/base_configuration

Thanks, @jrossicare. We’re giving this some extended thought as we continue to modernize the Sources UI. I agree, we should send you to something other than accounts!

@kirby_fitch any thoughts on including Roles that have an Entitlement for a Source? A Source has always showed Access Profiles that are configured specifically for that Source type, but could a Source correlate Roles that have an Entitlement for that Source type?

This new UI seems to have adjusted some of the permission the “Helpdesk” Role had as our helpdesk is seeing a loss in functionality related to aggregating accounts, etc.

The Roles for users also seem to have been unalphabetized making it harder to trace similar roles a user may have due to them not appearing near one another such as before.

Overall I wish I could revert to a legacy mode UI until this is resolved or worked out.
