Are there known negative consequences of setting "Login after timeout returns to home page"?

Which IIQ version are you inquiring about?

8.4 p2

Hello,

We use IdentityIQ 8.4 p2 and get significant number of "Uncaught JAX-RS exception.,“sailpoint.tools.GeneralException: quickLink is required”.

QuickLinks configuration looks good.

I go through https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/IdentityIQ-Forum/Quicklink-is-required/m-p/240005/thread-id/18173… and “IdentityIQ Login Configuration”.

Few possible causes for this error may be timed-out sessions and deep links. All of which would be solved by enabling “Login after timeout returns to home page”.

Before that we would like to know if there are any negative consequences as this option is not enabled by default.

Our session time-out is more than 2 hours.

Thank you

Hi @opalyvoda,

The potential consequences of a long session are varied, especially if you have accounts with elevated permissions.
IIQ is an identity manager, so you can do anything. Imagine if someone with admin or very elevated permissions leaves the computer unlocked and someone finds the session open. Or they take control of a PC with an open session.

In this context we must think about reducing the possibility of these events.
