I would like to know if there is any best practice to handle user-inputted field during access request in ISC? This is supported in IIQ, but I don’t see any out-of-the-box capabilities in ISC, only Identity Attribute, Generator, or Static without any option for user input.
Looking at a thread here: Access request forms - #6 by colin_mckibben , it said that the support for custom forms within request center is a possibility for 2024. Is it there by now or is it not implemented yet?
Your timing is good. SailPoint just announced “Forms for Access Request” on July 24. It’s already available in sandboxes (week of Jul 22) and hits production the week of Jul 30.
The feature lets you define custom forms and attach them directly to Roles, Access Profiles, and Entitlements. When a requester selects an item that has an attached form, they get prompted to fill in the additional fields before submitting. So this is exactly the user-input capability that IIQ had and ISC was missing.
Sorry if I’m hijacking this thread a little bit, but I tried to use a form in my SB environment in a access request. While it is showing the results under approvals, how do I evaluate the answer of the form to change the specific access item that is being requested? I’m struggling to understand how the form in the access request can be used. Hope this isn’t a stupid question. I haven’t worked with IIQ, only ISC.
I don’t believe that you can change the access that was requested, only use the information to decide if the access is appropriate and then approve or deny based on that. If you need that, I would suggest in the Dent message that you include the name of the correct access and ask the requestor to submit a new request for that access.
Can anyone tell me how to verify whether this release has been rolled out to my tenant? Is there a specific page or section in the tenant where I can check the current release or feature rollout ?
