A rule that checks if workitem requester and owner are same then reassigned it to requester manager.

I will go with:

  • Rule Type: WorkItemForwardingRule
  • Purpose: Automatically forward work items where the requester and owner are the same, to the requester’s manager.

Just make sure you also take account for when a user doesn’t have a manager. You’ll need to have a default person/workgroup to assign it to.
