Anyone tried installing VA on the mac?
Intel Mac via VMWare Fusion? Or are you asking about Apple Silicon? If the latter, then I don’t think that’s happening. Incompatible binaries / processor architecture.
Or you want to run it via UTM / Parallel emulation?
Thank you Terry for response . Its for Apple M1 Max.
It seems to boot up fine in UTM.
Downloaded the OVA image then:
- tar -xvf to unpack it.
- Install brew, install qemu
- convert the vmdk to qcow2 format with qemu-img
- install UTM
- Create a new Linux emulation in UTM.
- Delete the IDE disk
- Create an NVME disk and point it to the qcow2 image
Boot it up, …after grub, it will go blank for about 15-20 seconds while it loads the kernel. Give it a moment, and it’ll come alive.

Remove the SATA devices. Your qcow2 should be mapped as an NVME device.
