Emergency access administrators can log into a system experiencing connectivity problems and make changes. These admins are listed in an identity profile that uses a flat file source as its account source. Different types of users can be listed in a flat file source, however, users who are admins listed in a flat file source have special emergency access admin privileges. Emergency access admins can sign in when your site is having connectivity problems because they come from a flat file source, so they can troubleshoot and repair problems.
A few corrections to article… Updating Emergency Access Administrators List
Step 2 says “Select or edit the Identity Security Cloud Administrators source.” but our newly-provisioned environment has the source name IDN Administrator.
Step 8 says “Under Upload Accounts, select the Upload icon …” but current environment has Import Accounts instead of Upload Accounts
Hi @gbris! Thanks for your feedback! I’ve created a ticket to review these docs, and we’ll update this thread when we’ve finished that review. Thank you!
Back when our tenant was initially provisioned, I was granted a “-bg” account like the documentation says. However, recently the Solutions Consultant on our Advisory Services engagement advised us to combine our “-bg” Identities (there were several people that held break glass accounts) with our regular Identities being defined by our Auth Source. I don’t know if there should be a blurb about this new advice
