Staffing size for IAM team

Please share the following so we can get a benchmark comparison for staffing size:

  1. How many team members are in the Identity & Access Management (IAM) team for your company?
    1. What is the approximate number of users supported by the IAM team function (employees, contractors, interns, etc.)?
  • General IAM Team Size: There is no average size when it comes to IAM teams, as it depends on the company size and project scope. However, a typical range for IAM teams is 4-20 people.

  • The approximate number of users supported by an IAM team function can vary greatly depending on the organization’s size and the scope of their IAM implementation.

In my current project: migration/upgradation from IIQ 7.1 to 8.4p2, there are only 4 people - 1 employee, 1 contractor, 2 resources from QA/QC.

  • How many team members are in your Identity & Access Management (IAM) team?
(Please include roles such as engineers, analysts, architects, and governance/compliance specialists)
  • Approximately how many users are supported by your IAM function?
(Include all workforce users: employees, contractors, interns, and long-term vendors)

Depending on the scope of the IAM project, whether customizations are used, and how many applications are integrated:

-Number of identities managed
-Number of roles/entitlements managed
-Number of applications managed

It depends on the organization. Many organizations are managing up to 3 to 5 million identities.
