Setting an IP for VA

Hello Community,

I m trying to configure an Ip adress for my VA but when i execute the ifconfig command i only get the IP V6 adress what can i do to solve this problem and get the IP V4 one thank you in advance

List of IP addresses to be allowed to Virtual Appliance

Depending on your firewall configuration, you may need to add URLs to the allow list. If you are required to add outbound traffic to the allow list, and your firewall does not support domain entries, we recommend you configure a network tunnel VA. Allowing IP addresses of connected service endpoints is not supported. You’ll want to use domain entries or Network Tunnel VA. Specific IP addresses aren’t supported.

Thank you for your reply. I am actually doing the standard local installation on a Vsphere VM do you have any idea how to check why the Ipv4 is not showing ?

Hi @torry_salamat The VA uses networkd for network config.

Hi @j_place Thank you for your reply i tried to do a sudo systemctl restart systemd-networkd but it’s not working for me it says i dont have the permissions

A restart should do it.

Are you using a static IP? Did you go through Deploying Virtual Appliances - SailPoint Identity Services?

I was actually trying to do as the deployment link says but when doing the ifconfig command to find the IP of the VA so that i can add it to the static.network file i couldn’t find the ipv4 but only ipv6 adress

Are you saying you cant find the interface name from ip addr?

You will need the IP address as provided by your network team
