Search recommendations selection lag

This might not be visible to everyone but anyone noticed the lag when using search recommendations.
Like you type @ac and there are recommendations listed, you use down arrow key to select those. The down/up key is not responding properly, it is lagging and because of that you will have to use mouse to select recommendations or type everything with keyboard.
This is not just with one browser and not limited to my machine.

It used to work fine earlier and I am heavily using search in my day to day operations so this is slowing me down.

Can anyone try this out and share their experience.

Just tried this in our dev tenant with this behavior.

What I’ve noted specifically.

  1. first down arrow keystroke, nothing happens, second and more selection goes down list
  2. change to up arrow, first press goes one down, second and more goes back up
  3. change to down arrow, first press goes one up still, the rest goes back down again.

So it seems that the previous keystroke is used, not the current keystroke.
