SAP Direct: SNC Connection Error [No credentials were supplied Unable to establish the security]

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience onboarding SAP HANA application? Or using the SAP Direct Connector with SNC configuration? Because we are encountering an error “SAP Direct: SNC Connection Error [No credentials were supplied Unable to establish the security]”

I also found resolution documentation and tried executing it but still encountering same error.

I’m not sure if we applied it correctly, so I have few questions put in the resolution steps. Hope anyone can help. Thanks

Documentation Resolution:

  1. The SECUDIR environment variable is correctly set for the root user. →

we don’t have root user in va environment, only “sailpoint” user. Is this suffiient?

  1. On UNIX systems, the environment variable USER is correctly set for the active user.

→ I observed that when I am trying to export the variables in the environment using the “export” command, I can add it temporarily in the environment. Because when I close the rdp session and tried to open again, the environment variables set back to it’s default. How I can add the environment variables permanently?

  1. The container file for credentials the cred_v2 file is in the directory indicated by SECUDIR.

  2. A readable credential exists for the root user for the PSE.

→ since we don’t have root user, I used “sailpoint” user.

  1. The credential contains the correct password. If the password contained in the credentials file is wrong, you must replace these credentials. Ensure the you remember the password.

  2. Ensure that the certificates have been configured/provided properly on both the server and client side.

  3. Ensure that the SAP SNC port is open and able to communicate correctly.

Any ideas that can help? Thanks

Hi @Rpalos
As you mention SECUDIR and LD_LIBRARY_PATH should be set as environment variable with root user

Hi @ismaelmoreno1,

Thank you for responding. I also suspecting that.
However, I already ask the support regarding the root user, and they replied to me that VA does not allow logging as root.
