NERM: dynamically send an approval during profile creation

Hello all!

I share with you my use case in NERM: I have different user roles:

Role of company A, Role of company B, etc.

When I create profiles in NERM I select the company for which I am creating the profile, e.g. Company A.

I want that before the profile is created, it goes through an approval level, how can I dynamically indicate to which role the approval is sent?

I know you could use conditions in the workflow, however, what happens when there are 50 companies, for example?

Thanks in advance,

Greetings!

Hi,

So for example, for 50 companies you will create 50 roles is it? I dont think this is possible in NERM. Single approver you can add dynamically, but I dont think we can add a role dynamically.

Hello, @Abhinov7

Thank you for replying.
That’s right, we would create 50 roles in NERM.
Do you know if there is any role limit in NERM?
On the other hand, if the option was instead of roles, to add an approver dynamically, how can we implement it?

Thanks in advance.

there is no known limit. I have hundreds in an implementation with no problems

The only possible “dynamic” way to achieve this would be designating the approval performers as the Profile contributor(s) of Company X. You would need to test this though to see if it will function correctly. The only uncertain is if it would pick up the role as a contributor for the Company. So you would have one approval form action, with the performers set as the contributor of the Company attribute.

Thank you, it sounds like a good idea, I will try it today.

Hi, @coltonulmer

I am trying to configure it in NERM.
I see that I can select as approver a contributor from another profile; from those contributors it allows me to select an “owner” or a “sponsor”, do you know how I can assign one role as “sponsor” of the profile; additionally, do you know what is a “sponsor” for NERM?

Thanks in advance!

So the “Contributors from another profile” option displays/allows you to select Profile Select/search attributes. Example, would be selecting the profile attribute for company. Therefore , the approval performers would be the “Contributors” of that selected profile (company).

To assign a Role as a contributor to a profile , you would navigate to Profiles > Select profile from list > Click on “Contributors” tab > Under “User Roles” search and select desired role.

Finally, Sponsor === Manager essentially.
