Hi all,
I setup a workgroup with a group email which has 6 members. In the email I do see it is sending to the group email, however the members of the group email did not receive the email. Can anyone advise am I missing some settings?
Do you really have members in the workgroup from IdentityIQ?
What I understand from your last screenshot is you are expecting emails to the individual members of the DL (Distribution List) members, which should happen automatically from the Outlook/O365 side. Check the spam folder of the individual user.
Note: workgroup members are different and DL group members are different.
workgroup members will be notified based on setting from identityiq and DL members will be notified by default from outlook/O365 when an email sent to DL from IIQ.
The notification process for workgroup members is fully managed and controlled by IdentityIQ’s internal logic and configuration.
As per your configuration, the notification type is Notify members and group email. So, In this case SailPoint will behave like below:
Notify members and group email – send notifications to each group member and the group email address
Here, are you confirming that individual members of the workgroup are not getting the email or individual members of group mail are not getting.
Usually if some users are present in group email (DL) but the same user is not present in the Workgroup then in this case, Sailpoint will not send the notification to the email address of that individual member.
Hi @msingh900, I am trying to confirm why the members in the distribution list is not receiving the email.
Based on your explanation, they members of the distribution list has to be members in the workgroup? That is no stated in the documentation and it also defeats the purpose of ‘Nofity members and group email‘ if those members are part of the workgroup I won’t need the group email.
Members of the DL should be getting notified by the setting of O365/Exchange. If your DL members are not getting emails then it will be better if you check with the o365 team like why the members of this DL is not receiving emails that are coming to DL.
I agree with your point: it is not necessary for the DL members to be part of the workgroup for them to be notified.
The key difference in the setting is that when the workgroup members and the DL members are different, the workgroup members will be notified based on the configuration.
