Issue with Azure AD Connector - Shared Mailboxes Missing Names

Hello everyone,

We are currently managing distribution lists (DLs) and shared mailboxes using the Azure AD connector. DL management is working smoothly, and we’re able to pull in shared mailboxes as well. However, we’re encountering an issue where a few shared mailboxes are being pulled with only their IDs, not their names. This problem is only affecting some shared mailboxes, not all.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? Any suggestions to help resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Saikiran D

Hi @Saikiran25,

do you have visibility of those DLs on Azure? If the problem is only on a little subset of DLs, maybe, those object have a problem or are not well configurated or your service user need more permission.

@Saikiran25
Is this consistent behaviour with fixed set of mailboxes, did you try comparing the objects at AD end which are working?
Definitely something might be a configuration difference at target side as it is working for few.

Yes, I have visibility.

I’m not experiencing any issues with DLs; however, there is an issue with Shared Mailboxes for certain users. For some, I can see the mailboxes as shown below:

For others, I only see the ID, as displayed here:

Is it that these don’t have a name and azure send the id? or the name is the id?

Can you see those DLs on Azure?

It is having proper name in Azure.

Hi @Saikiran25 - Is it possible that the Shared Mailboxes that you are having a problem with were provisioned in a different way to the ones that you can see? Maybe “Hide from GAL”, or some sort of permissions are disabling the service account from viewing the actual object?
