ISC Okta Connector - Aggregate based on custom Okta attributes (filter vs. search)

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently configured the Okta connector in ISC for the first time and initially had trouble limiting the account aggregation based on the value of a custom attribute. The error stated: Okta Error code : E0000031, errorSummary : Invalid search criteria

I haven’t come across this answer anywhere, and the only other topic where this post might make sense is closed, so here it is for future reference. Hope it helps someone!

The Okta API filter parameter does not support the use of custom Okta attributes within the filter

However, the Okta API search parameter does support custom Okta attributes.

In the ISC Okta connector aggregation settings, if you need to use a custom Okta attribute in the filtering process, you need to select the toggle “Enable List Users With Search” under Additional Settings. This toggle switches from using the “filter” to using the “search” parameter in the API calls.
