Hi Community,

I was checking to modify some UI texts in IIQ 8.3p3, but I find that the file “iiqCustom.properties” located in "/usr/local/tomcat9/webapps/identityiq/WEB-INF/classes/sailpoint/web/messages " doesn’t have any information.

In the version 8.3 download URL “https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/IdentityIQ-Articles/What-s-New-in-IdentityIQ-8-3/ta-p/214235#toc-hId- -1715877732”, indicate the following: “full localization of the message catalog and UI is expected to be shipped with the first patch of IdentityIQ 8.3”, but I checked 8.3p1, 8.3p2 and 8.3p3 media and this information is not yet there.

Is it necessary to have the complete information of this file? How can I obtain it or, otherwise, how could I modify the texts I want?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Patrick for your response.

I had already read the article, I’m just worried if it’s okay for the “iiqCustom.properties” file to have no information, since it should have the text labels for the English language and I don’t know if adding in that file only the label of text that I want to modify (and once again being left without the other texts), can all the texts on the portal be affected?

The “iiqCustom.properties” file should have a structure like this:

Thanks again!

Hi @Beltran ,

The localized messages are part of the identityiq.jar in the WEB-INF/lib directory.
For the Italian version you can see it when you unpack the identityiq.jar (using cd WEB-INF/lib; mkdir identityiq; cd identityiq; jar xvf ../identityiq.jar) and go to file: ‘sailpoint/web/messages/iiqMessages_it.properties’
this file contains the Italian version for all Out-of-the-box (OOTB) messages of IdentityIQ.

The iiqCustom.properties (you mentioned) is used to overwrite the OOTB messages.

For instance change the thankyou message of the password reset page from ‘Grazie’ to ‘Grazie mille’, add the following to the iiqCustome.properties file:

desktop_reset_thankyou=Grazie mille

Only add the messages you want to overwrite. The rest is taken form the OOTB provided messages files.
