We did upgrade from 8.4p2 to 8.5p2 and Identity Details View, which opens from Identity Warehouse by clicking on any Identity was empty due to exception.
Investigation showed it stumbled on username field in UISettings → identityViewAttributes.
Removing that field fixed the view and it shows well. Same value is in “name” field, in our configuration.
We had this filed long time and have it in 8.4 p2 production without issue.
Investigation showed Identity ObjectConfig is involved and there was no field username in it - so returned ObjectAttribute was null.
Our Identity objects also don’t have identity field username.
Can you look at your 8.4 IdentityExtended.hbm.xml file to see if you have username defined there as a named column? Look to see if it was defined as an extended attribute in 8.4. When you deploy 8.5, the default IdentityExtended.hbm.xml file is put there unless you merged it with the one from your 8.4 build.
@opalyvoda How did you perform the upgrade? Could you please outline your steps. Possibly as you are not using SSB, you might have missed few files in older versions.
I didn’t post exception, and people usually search for that, top lines are:
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "sailpoint.object.ObjectAttribute.getName()" because "src" is null

Focus is:
Issue is not happening in 8.4 p2, and 8.5 p2 throws exception.
This post is for others experiencing similar issue to find possible solution.
I tested by adding random name into UIConfig → identityViewAttributes list for 8.4 p2 and it works fine.
Same action on 8.5 p2 throws exception above and Identity Details View is empty.
It is not an upgrade, and I think change is good - it validates fields instead of just skipping them.
We can have separate topic about upgrades. They usually are defined in “IdentityIQ® Installation Guide” and readme files for patches and eFixes.
