History for Role Composition Certification

IIQ Version: 8.4

Hello everyone,

I noticed there is a “History” button located under the burger menu icon, but when I click on it, no details are shown. Can someone clarify what type of history is displayed here? Also, when does this history get populated, after remediation, after a work item is completed and closed, or at another stage?

Thanks in advance!

hi @zeel_sinojia

The “History” button in SailPoint IIQ shows a log of changes (like approvals, revocations, or updates) made to roles, entitlements, or accounts. It gets populated when actions are taken—during certifications, identity refreshes, or work item completions.

Hope this helps

Hey @haideralishaik, Thanks for your response.

This makes sense, however even after taking a decision, revocation of the entitlement profile from the role composition certification, I don’t see any history getting populated.

Why would this be the case?

hi @zeel_sinojia

I would check below:

  1. Maintain Identity Histories

    • Go to gear icon > Global Settings > IdentityIQ Configuration > Identities tab

    • Ensure “Maintain identity histories” is enabled. This allows snapshots to be generated during identity refresh tasks and certifications

  2. Enable Access History

    • Navigate to Global Settings > Access History Configuration

    • Check the box for “Enable Access History”

    • This activates tracking of access changes and provisioning events

    • Configuring Access History

  3. Provisioning Must Complete Successfully

    • History only updates if the revocation action is successfully provisioned. If provisioning fails or is delayed, history won’t reflect the change
  4. Work Item Completion

    • If a revocation generates a work item, it must be completed and marked as “Remediated” for history to update

Hi @zeel_sinojia

The history button in certifications will help you identify the workitem forwarding history of that particular access review.

This can be helpful in cases where the user receives certification workitem, user can know the forwarding history with date and comments.

If the certification has never been forwarded or reassigned, that means that concerned certifier is the first user to receive that certification. So in that case it would be empty.

hi @zeel_sinojia

Also, would try doing a delegation to an access item in the certification and check.

Thanks,

Shaik

Hey @haideralishaik & @tharshith,

Thanks for the inputs. It was the delegation that populated the history.

So, any delegations made to the certification item is shown under the history tab.
