Then we while testing we got this error.
Upgrade has been performed successfully.

A null pointer could be many different things, I would first identify if the issue is with the upgrade or with how you have implemented something. Turn on higher level of debugging and try to track down which action gives you the above error.

We were earlier on 8.3P4. Now we have upgraded to 8.4P3.
And there were no error in 8.3P4.

Also we have not done any modification on workItem perspective because we not even using this in anyway in our project.
The error states uncaught JAX-RS exception. Seems like this could be related to an API declaration. All I can think of it’s an updated method on the new version and you have to replace it with the new method call.

just tell me one thing, when you open the workitem tab, does it open?? or directly you are getting the error . If i understadn correctly, you are try to sort the workitem by ID or any other thing, and you are getting the error??

WorkItemDTO.java:282 is expecting a parameter, a value, something. You currently sending nothing. Therefore, you having null error.
You should go over the method and read what’s looking for. According to that logic, you can start debugging if it’s a file, where in the UI you’re failing or so many other things.
- Not using the same version but haven’t experienced such issues on the higher versions so assuming there is no issue with any UI files.
- Try Checking if there is any workitem that is corrupted data like null values in required fields or sort fields might return such errors, clearing the same will help you in resolving the error.
I think the issue is you have work items which is missing the key important detail such as
owner, state and other dteial.
Do one thing write a rule to find out
Owner is null or deleted
WorkItem is delegated but delegation is null
Delegated user/workgroup no longer exists
Act only on completed or expired WorkItems.
delete those workitems and see post that, if you get null error
