Error message in workflow via External Trigger processing

Hello Team,

We are able to trigger a workflow from external system and provisioning set of access from workflow.

is there way we can add a message in the workflow processing and which can be tracked using workflow execution API?

Please provide some insights and any alternate approach for the same…!!

Add a comment during provisioning request via workflow and that could be tracked in access request report via search.

we have requirement to add message in the workflow processing, since there could be chances were provided data from external trigger not valid for processing, and is there way , we can write appropriate error message in the workflow execution
