Enhancement: Identity Graph UI Updates

Description

Identity Graph is a highly visual tool that seeks to make easier for organizations to understand and engage with their identity data. To this end, we’ve recently taken steps to simplify Identity Graph’s UI.

These updates cover a variety of individual components but ultimately

  • prioritize working space for the graph

  • elevate the Data Table to a “first class citizen”

  • create a clear visual hierarchy across UI elements, making it easier to understand how they fit together

  • set Identity Graph up for future improvements and capabilities

New Capabilities

There have been multiple updates across Identity Graph’s UI.

Problem

Identity Graph’s user experience is a central pillar of its value. It’s easy to understand access paths and get the information necessary to answer customer questions, troubleshoot access, or investigate security issues.

Up until this point, the user experience served its purpose well, but as we assessed it’s current capabilities and what we wanted to do in the future, we quickly realized we needed to evaluate how the core UI components work together in a way that maintains usability and is stable long term.

Solution

We’ve introduced a more simplified, straightforward UI that prioritizes

  • Colocating help menus, documentation, the legend etc.

  • Making the graph’s root node more apparent

  • Modifying Explorer behavior to act more as a search history

  • Updates to Details panels

  • Consolidating filtering, grouping, and other widgets along a horizontal rail

  • Other UI updates related to supporting future roadmap plans

Who is affected?

Identity Graph customers.

Hi @michael_presas,

Is it possible (or on the roadmap) to determine/visualize which roles grant access to a given source using graph?
