New Product: Observability & Insights - Identity Graph

Description

We are excited to introduce Observability and Insights, a foundational step toward empowering identity teams with the clarity and context they need to make faster, smarter decisions. This new product, embedded directly Identity Security Cloud, is designed to help customers to both see the reality of their identity landscape and more effectively manage it.

Observability & Insights brings together cutting-edge visualization and data-driven insight to tackle challenges in visibility, identity hygiene, latent risks, audit readiness, and access governance, which helps identity programs move from reactive responses to proactive control.

New Capabilities

With the Identity Graph capability (the first feature of our new Observability & Insights offering), administrators can not only visualize relationships between identities, roles, access profiles, and entitlements but also interact with this data in a new way that allows admins to gain meaningful insight.

Problem

Modern enterprises face a continuously shifting identity landscape, rife with siloed systems and fragmented identity data, which results in degraded visibility. This makes it extremely difficult for organizations to quickly understand who has access to what, how they have that access, and if that access is okay.

Maintaining identity hygiene is increasingly difficult due to inconsistent data and limited visibility into effective permissions, leaving identity teams unable to efficiently answer key access questions from auditors, their boards, or security teams.

Organizational silos between Security Operations and Identity Operations hinder collaboration and proactive risk management. These challenges are compounded by the current user experience, which does not make it simple for identity teams to assess, analyze, and manipulate their data.

Solution

Identity Graph provides an intuitive and interactive graph visualization that allows organization to easily understand the current state of access, how that access is granted, and the resultant risk hot spots.

Who is affected?

ISC Administrators.

The Observability & Insights offering is available for add-on purchase for Business and Business Plus customers. Please contact your CSM for more information!

For clarification - The Identity Graph would be an add-on separate from Atlas Enterprise from the sound of this?

It would be helpful to see these updated on the licensing documentation page: SailPoint Customer Agreements Definitions and Additional Terms - SailPoint Product Documentation

Hi Alex!
Your assumption is correct. Currently, it’s a separate add on.

Good note on the licensing documentation page. I’ll see what I can do to get that updated.

The new capabilities of ISC are certainly valuable; however, SailPoint’s licensing model is causing frustration among enterprise customers, who feel they are being “nickeled and dimed” for additional features that primarily enhance analysis of data already generated through system use.

It is disappointing to see SailPoint continue to shift in this direction, charging extra for functionality that many consider core to the service.

Had we been aware that this licensing approach would not only persist but expand, we would have seriously considered alternative vendors for our migration away from IIQ.

Hi Trentt,

Thank you for the really candid feedback. I want to acknowledge your frustration and make sure that you know your perspective is not only heard but also a direct input into the internal conversations we have around packaging.

Thank you,

Michael

To Trent’s response above. This feeling is represented across the market. Mentioning a product being released as, “a foundational step toward empowering identity teams”, and simultaneously telling us it’s an add-on with additional costs makes no sense. If not being completely contradictory.

As an enterprise, the Sailpoint product is purchased to break down the barriers that exist within the IAM industry and have a clean one stop shop solution for IAM as a whole. For Sailpoint to then create barriers to entry for, “foundational”, functionality is outright bad business practice from a partnership point of view.

I enjoy the Sailpoint team and product, and I am hoping for a turnaround from these practices in the future.
