We currently provision local mailboxes in exchange server 2016. Everything was working with TLS enabled until we disabled basic auth on the exchange server. Now we cannot provision a mailbox unless we disable TLS in sailpoint. From the limited documentation, It appears that local mailbox provisioning requires basic auth for psremoting and the only way around this is to provision mailboxes in m365

I confirmed that using the built in exchange provisioning requires basic authentication when using TLS. However, is tls established first, or are the service account creds used to establish authentication, passed in base64, then TLS is established?
Hi @egonzalez , TLS gets established first on the transport layer. Authentication happens later once TLS is established.
I hope that answers your question!
All the best!
