Authentication fails after successful password change using API 'Set Identity's Password'

Hi all

I’m seeing a successful completion. of an API call, using the 2024 API call for ‘Set Identity’s Password’. I retrieved the user’s public key and ID, generated the encrypted password using ‘RSA/ECB/PKCS1Padding’ algorithm, submitted the API request through Postman and received a ‘202 Accepted’ response. I checked the Identity Management activity log, it shows the task completed ok. The password reset is run against the IdentityNow sourced ID.

I’m getting an ‘Authentication Failed’ message when attempting to log in with the updated password.

Appreciate any insights or thoughts on the issue.

Yup, one of those moments. The Identity profile was set to use AD as the auth source. Updated to use the SailPoint User, all is well.

Seemed that was a likely cause, just needed to follow the breadcrumbs to the right spot.
